Bernadette Peters ( born February 28, 1948) is an American actress, singer, and children's book author. Over her six-decade career Peters has appeared in films and television, as well as performed solo concerts. Critically acclaimed Broadway performer, she was nominated seven times for Tony Awards. She won two of them (plus an honorary), and nine nominations for the Drama Desk Awards. She also received three. Grammy Awards were awarded to four of the Broadway cast albums in which she starred.
